Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an extraordinary DCEO Principal Engineer to lead the AMER Data Center Engineering Operations.

This senior role oversees electrical, mechanical, and controls systems, driving operational excellence, safety, and reliability across a growing portfolio of AWS data centers. You will guide, educate, and develop team members while also hands-on troubleshooting critical facility equipment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance or data center/mission critical facilities experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• PE registration or 5+ years of leadership experience delivering results to senior leadership.
• Experience motivating teams in deadline-driven environments.
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented and customer-focused communication skills.
• Experience with large-scale technical operations or compute farms.
• Ability to justify technical decisions with business-case analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) for AMER.
• Ensure availability and reliability to meet service levels for data center operations.
• Manage infrastructure including electrical, mechanical, and controls systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, safety, and security.
• Balance strategic guidance with hands-on troubleshooting of critical facilities equipment.
