Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a DCEO Principal Engineer in the AMER region to lead data center infrastructure management, delivering safety, reliability, and uptime for AWS facilities.

You will oversee electrical, mechanical, and controls systems while guiding cross‑functional teams through strategic programs and hands‑on troubleshooting as needed. Qualifications

• 10+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance or data center/mission critical facilities experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineering registration, or 5+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive a safety‑first culture under Amazon Leadership Principles and uphold SOPs, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Be a leader within the Data Center engineering staff across the region, including engineers, managers, and facility leaders.
• Partner with senior leaders to prevent Large Scale Events and advise on technical work and strategic improvements of DCEO.
• Test and validate installation, operation, and performance of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Maintain and innovate infrastructure; translate design requirements into actionable solutions across teams.
• Provide root‑cause analysis, mitigation planning, and long‑term fixes with cross‑functional partners.
• Mentor operations staff through coaching and development.
• Plan infrastructure goals for key initiatives and metrics supporting availability and management.
• Communicate effectively with diverse technical audiences; drive practical, out‑of‑the‑box solutions.
