Google Inc. is seeking a Data Center Plant Engineer, Mechanical in Council Bluffs to lead cooling and infrastructure for critical facilities. The role drives improvements in data center efficiency and collaborates with technicians, leads, and managers to execute site programs.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with contractors, and provide input on commissioning and major repairs. This position emphasizes safety, compliance, and scalable reliability across sites.

Qualifications

• 9 years of experience with commercial/industrial HVAC, chillers, mechanical cooling systems, and mission-critical facility operations.
• 4 years of experience in data centers, central utility plants, hospitals, or industrial process facilities.
• Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant efficiency (PUE/WUE) at a data center and drive site-level programs with technicians and managers.
• Coordinate with external mechanical contractors for maintenance and repairs.
• Provide input on DC commissioning, retesting, and major repairs as a site lead collaborating with quality teams.
• Support EHS, operations, and maintenance programs to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
• Communicate recommendations to senior executives and drive implementation across sites.
