Job summary

Google is seeking a Data Center Services Mechanical Engineer to lead the on-site design, construction, and commissioning of HVAC and mechanical distribution systems for mission-critical data centers in South Carolina. You will oversee site-level mechanical issues, ensure compliance with codes, and collaborate with DCDE core teams to deliver high-quality projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5 years of experience in design, construction, and commissioning of chilled water cooling, air handling, fire suppression, plumbing, or underground utilities.
• 5 years of experience with electro/mechanical assembly and mechanical testing procedures with documentation.
• 5 years of experience in mission-critical facility design and mechanical infrastructure.
• 5 years of experience with data center operations and cross-functional project teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to define mechanical system design requirements for multiple data center projects.
• Collaborate with DCDE core teams to develop and manage data center mechanical designs from basis of design to construction.
• Respond to site RFIs and coordinate with engineer of record to support site issues.
• Participate in new technology insertions and develop site-specific BOD requirements.
• Own and manage all site-level mechanical system issues during project execution.
