Job summary

OnStak Inc. is seeking an experienced L3 Data Center Field Operations Technician for on-site deployment in New Albany, OH.

This senior role emphasizes ownership of data center hardware maintenance, fiber testing, and rack-and-stack installations across a 24×7 rotational schedule. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of hyperscale data center experience, strong networking hardware skills, and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years of progressive professional experience in data center operations, network hardware, and field support.
• Hands-on expertise supporting hyperscale or enterprise data center facilities under 24x7 rotational shift environments.
• Proficiency with enterprise switches, routers, optical transceivers, and advanced fiber-testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert L3 technical support and troubleshooting for data center hardware, server infrastructure, and network connectivity.
• Execute physical rack-and-stack deployments, server installations, hardware replacements, and asset decommissioning.
• Diagnose and resolve copper and fiber-optic cabling faults, signal loss, and link failures.
• Conduct rigorous optical fiber testing using OTDR, optical power meters, and loopback tools.
• Handle escalated incidents, perform RCA, and execute preventive maintenance.
• Mentor L1/L2 technicians and coordinate with remote engineering teams.
• Maintain documentation of asset inventories and cabling run-sheets.
