Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Data Center Energy Strategic Negotiator in Reston, VA. You will lead complex energy supply formations, negotiate PPAs and utility agreements, and coordinate across teams to optimize energy costs for Google's data centers.

The role requires a strong background in energy project development and long-term experience with microgrids, BTM, and related energy contracts. Applicants should be ready to engage with energy partners and executives to drive strategic outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in energy project development, utility procurement, or finance/consulting roles.
• 10 years of experience developing or structuring power purchase agreements for the use of Microgrids, Behind-the-Meter (BTM) power agreements, gas turbines, BESS, fuel cell or geothermal energy.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex energy supply formation and commercial structuring, including PPAs with energy suppliers, microgrid agreements, and utility energy supply agreements.
• Drive cross-functional workstreams: market analysis, project economics, risk assessment, system design, and executive alignment.
• Identify and develop energy-ready sites and strengthen relationships with IPPs, utilities, and energy stakeholders.
• Contribute to Google's data center portfolio through energy due diligence during site selection and project development.
