Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Staff Commissioning Engineer to lead the commissioning lifecycle for data center projects. You will serve as the on-site mechanical SME, owning testing, documentation, and turnover while coordinating with construction, engineering, controls, and operations teams.

You will review submittals, ensure design intent alignment, and manage third-party commissioning agents. A mechanical engineering background with L1–L5 knowledge and travel readiness is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data center commissioning, construction, or critical infra delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; CxA certification a plus.
• Deep knowledge of L1–L5 commissioning levels and the associated docs and testing requirements.
• Hands-on experience with data center cooling infrastructure and BMS systems.
• Proven experience managing third-party commissioning agents and vendor accountability to scope, schedule, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Be the on-site mechanical SME for commissioning activities and primary escalation point for technical issues.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and O&M documentation to ensure alignment with design intent.
• Maintain alignment of Owner Project Requirements with commissioning scope across project lifecycle.
• Oversee third-party commissioning agents (CxA) including scope, performance, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with procurement to schedule factory tests and vendor testing activities.
• Review and approve commissioning documentation and turnover packages.
• Oversee QA processes including inspections and installation validation.
• Drive issue identification, remediation, and formal closure across all phases.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among construction, engineering, controls, and operations.
• Support transition to operations with training, handover documentation, and post-handover support.
• Enforce safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements on all commissioning activities.
