Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Staff Commissioning Engineer to lead commissioning activities across data center projects, owning the full lifecycle from factory testing through turnover. You will ensure electrical and EPMS systems meet design intent, OP requirements, and Crusoe's readiness standards while coordinating with third-party agents and vendors.

The role requires deep technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration with construction, engineering, controls, and operations, and travel up to 75%

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data center commissioning, construction, or critical infrastructure delivery.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; CxA certification a plus.
• Deep knowledge of commissioning levels L1 through L5 and corresponding docs/test requirements.
• Hands-on experience with data center power distribution and EPMS.
• Proven experience managing third-party commissioning agents and vendors.
• Ability to review construction drawings, single-line diagrams, submittals, and test procedures.
• Strong cross-functional coordination across construction, engineering, controls, and operations.
• Willingness to travel to project sites (75% travel).

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site electrical SME for commissioning across all project phases.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and O&M docs for alignment with design intent.
• Ensure OP requirements align with commissioning scope and track changes.
• Oversee third-party CxA including scope, performance, and testing activities.
• Coordinate vendor testing with procurement.
• Review/approve commissioning docs (Cx Plan, test scripts, reports).
• Oversee quality control and inspections.
• Drive issue identification, remediation, and closure across phases.
• Ensure activities align with plans and performance standards.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration with construction, engineering, controls, and operations.
• Define commissioning processes and engagement levels for stakeholders.
• Ensure complete documentation for turnover.
• Support transition to operations with training and post-handover support.
• Enforce safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
