Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Chief Engineer for AWS Data Center Operations Engineering (DCEO) to oversee electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.

You will manage preventative maintenance, respond to emergencies, and act as the primary technical resource within the data center. You will lead small-to-medium projects from conception to completion, coordinate with internal teams and external vendors, and champion cost-reduction through efficiency and resiliency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or 5+ years relevant experience.
• Experience delivering results on large cross-functional initiatives.
• Ability to motivate teams in deadline-driven environments.

Responsibilities

• Set and maintain high safety standards across all data-center operations.
• Drive standardisation of procedures to improve infrastructure performance.
• Collaborate with engineers and operations teams to streamline maintenance.
• Ensure 100% uptime for customer-supporting infrastructure.
• Train and mentor technicians in corrective and preventative maintenance.
• Coordinate with 3rd party providers for operational excellence.
