Job summary

BP Americas, Inc. seeks a Lead Development Systems Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for the Corporate Land team. This role bridges business operations and technical delivery, shaping architecture, roadmap, and engineering standards for scalable automation, data, and AI-enabled solutions.

The ideal candidate combines deep engineering with strategic influence, leading complex work across organizational boundaries and mentoring engineers and analysts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in software/data/automation/analytics.
• Proven architecture leadership and end-to-end delivery of complex data/AI solutions.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL with clean, well-tested code.
• Cloud data platforms: Snowflake, Databricks, Palantir; data modeling & performance.
• Knowledge of data architecture, ETL/ELT, APIs, governance, security, CI/CD, observability, lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead and solutions architect for Corporate Land.
• Own end-to-end delivery for automation, data, analytics, and AI-enabled products.
• Design data pipelines and analytical products using Snowflake, Databricks, Palantir.
• Set reusable engineering standards, testing, security, and deployment practices.
• Build a technical roadmap aligned with strategy and platform direction.
• Lead technical decisions across complex initiatives and mentor teams.
