Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Lead Data Architect to drive the creation of logical data models, ontologies, and data pipelines within a Databricks-centric environment. You will collaborate with Data Product Owners to define semantic standards and ensure AI-ready features for enterprise applications.

The role requires extensive experience in data modeling, ontology design, and large-scale data engineering, with strong Python/SQL and Spark skills, plus familiarity with NiFi/Airflow for pipelines.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in large-scale data architecture/engineering.
• Experience productizing data assets for enterprise use.
• Proven ability to design/operationalize ontologies.
• Strong programming in Python and SQL; Spark proficiency.
• Experience with data integration/orchestration tools (NiFi, Airflow).
• US Citizen with Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Data Product Owners to capture requirements and model data.
• Design federated ontologies and knowledge graphs for AI use.
• Deliver clean feature sets for ML pipelines; ensure lineage.
• Define representations for SAP/Apriso and ingestion patterns.
• Create architecture artifacts and enforce data quality and security.
• Productize data entities to meet documented use cases.
• Collaborate with Lead Data Engineer to validate designs.
• Improve modeling processes and promote ontology reuse.
• Advise on technology stack for team operations.
