Job summary

Peregrine Advisors is seeking a data architect to shape a federated federal data-lake platform on AWS, delivering clean data models and governed architectures. You will design schemas across S3, Aurora PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB, and enable secure, auditable data flows in a regulated environment.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years in data architecture and modeling, strong AWS experience (Glue/EMR/Lambda), and a track record of communicating complex designs to both technical and non-technical

Qualifications

• 4+ years of data architecture and data modeling experience.
• 4+ years of cloud data architecture on AWS, including AWS Glue, Amazon EMR, and AWS Lambda
• Bachelor's degree
• Schema design across a data lake and relational stores, including S3 with Apache Iceberg tables, Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, and Amazon DynamoDB
• Data governance and security, with Apache Ranger or comparable access controls
• Data modeling tools, for example ER/Studio or IBM InfoSphere
• Communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proficiency in writing, PowerPoint, and Excel

Responsibilities

• Design clean data models and schemas across the data lake and its stores: S3 with Iceberg, Aurora PostgreSQL, DynamoDB.
• Set the models and schemas that new and migrated data sources land in, so the data comes together in one architecture.
• Restructure the existing data ecosystem to remove redundancy and protect the integrity and accessibility of the data.
• Keep all of it under governed access.
