Job summary

Curaleaf is seeking a Principal Data & Analytics Engineer to lead the design and evolution of a modern data and analytics platform. You will work across data engineering, BI, data science, and governance, delivering scalable, trusted data products and reusable capabilities.

The role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership, guiding architecture, standards, and cross-team collaboration to enable high-impact data solutions for business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Data Engineering or related architecture roles.
• Experience as a senior technical lead or principal engineer with cross-team influence.
• Deep expertise in Snowflake architecture, performance, security and cost optimization.
• Strong SQL and Python for data engineering and automation.
• Hands-on with dbt, data models, staging/conformed dimensions, and reusable data products.
• Experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD and data-focused software practices.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve end-to-end data architecture across ingestion, Snowflake, dbt, and data services.
• Translate business needs into scalable technical roadmaps and platform capabilities.
• Lead environment management, data access controls, and platform resilience.
• Define standards for SQL, Python, dbt, data modeling, testing, and deployment.
• Mentor engineers and drive technical alignment across teams without formal management.
• Communicate architecture risks, tradeoffs and investment needs to stakeholders.
