Job summary

Cedar is seeking a Principal Data Architect & Engineer to lead the transition to a new enterprise data platform. You will architect scalable data models, own metrics and data integrity, and drive AI-enabled product foundations.

This hands-on, leadership role requires deep experience in modern data stacks and mentoring engineers. You will collaborate with data, platform, and product teams to deliver reliable data systems across the revenue cycle, from pre-service to post-service, while ensuring

Qualifications

• 10+ years of data engineering and backend systems experience.
• Proficiency with Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, Airflow, OpenMetadata, Kafka, SQL and Python.
• Experience building production-grade ELT/ETL pipelines in cloud-first environments.
• Ability to define and audit key business metrics for data integrity.
• Experience with AI data APIs, context systems, or feature stores.

Responsibilities

• Architect the Future-State Data Model & Storage: lead design of a high-scale data model and storage outside the legacy monolith, with real-time and batch analytics.
• Ensure Metrics Reliability: own accuracy and reliability of core metrics and validation frameworks.
• Power Intelligent Agents: build real-time data foundations powering AI-driven products and agents for revenue cycle workflows.
• Design for the Future: model data for new product lines across full revenue cycle.
• Build Production Code: write and maintain production-grade code with the data engineering team.
• Guide and Mentor Engineers: provide design guidance and technical leadership.
• Collaborate: align across data engineering, platform, and product teams, manage dependencies.
• Steward Data Integrity: define standards for enterprise data dictionary and metadata strategy.
