Job summary

Vanderbilt University’s Office of Data & Strategic Analytics seeks a Senior Data Analytics Engineer to deliver high-quality data solutions across the BI lifecycle. You will design data models, build dashboards, write SQL, and collaborate with IT to advance the data warehouse and governance practices.

You will mentor analysts, apply institutional data standards, and explore AI-enabled analytics to support strategic decisions while aligning with FERPA and privacy policies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business analytics, or related field.
Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases and cloud platforms.
Experience with OTBI, OAC, Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tools.
Strong data modeling and data governance knowledge.
Experience mentoring teammates and leading complex projects.
Experience in higher education is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain complex data and analytics solutions.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Develop data models and data products to support reporting.
Lead data quality initiatives and ensure data governance.
Provide guidance and training to junior analysts.
Collaborate with IT to enhance data warehouse and metadata.
