Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Data Analyst V to support Medicaid Long-term Care data analysis. You will work with the Aging and Disability Reporting team to produce high-quality data, validate datasets, and deliver concise reports for leadership and stakeholders.

The role requires senior-level analysis, data validation, and strong collaboration with program experts to inform policy decisions. Telework may be allowed; on-site Austin presence may be required.

Qualifications

• Data quality and integrity assessment; identify missing or duplicate data and coordinate improvements.
• Ability to construct and validate data sets and analyses for reporting needs.
• Experience in creating standard and ad-hoc reports for internal/external audiences.
• Strong communication to explain technical results to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work with teams across the agency.

Responsibilities

• Data Quality/Integrity: Identify data gaps, errors, and inconsistencies; coordinate with internal groups to improve data quality.
• Data Analysis: Determine methods for data requests; compile and manipulate data points for monitoring Medicaid LTSS programs.
• Reporting: Interpret analysis results; prepare standard and ad-hoc reports in written, graphical and oral formats.
• Customer Focus and Communication: Engage with stakeholders; gather requirements and translate findings for decision-making.
• Special projects: Serve on committees; update SOPs for long-term care reporting.
