Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Data Analyst III for Analytics & Reporting within AES, Data Management & Reporting. Remote within Texas with telework eligibility, offering impactful analytics, reporting, and decision-support to improve program outcomes.

The role requires advanced SQL, data modeling, and data storytelling to communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders. Collaboration with program staff and leadership is essential for operational improvements.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional experience as a data analyst or in a closely related analytical role.
• Experience developing reports, analytical products, dashboards, or other BI deliverables.
• Experience using SQL or comparable query languages to extract, transform, and analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Conducts ad hoc and recurring data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis activities using large datasets.
• Develops SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, and analytical processes to support reporting and data modeling.
• Performs statistical analyses and trend evaluations to identify patterns and support data-driven decisions.
• Creates and maintains analytical datasets, reports, studies, and dashboards for operational monitoring and compliance.
• Utilizes SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, IBM SPSS, Python, Excel, and SSRS to support business needs.
