Job summary

State of Maryland's Department of Labor seeks a Data Analyst for the Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program. You will collect, validate, and analyze operational data from multiple sources to produce actionable insights, informing decisions and monitoring division progress.

Under supervision, you will design dashboards (Tableau/Power BI), maintain data governance, and create timely reports for leadership. Hybrid work and comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six years of administrative staff or professional work.
• 1. 30 college credit hours substituted for each year up to four years of required experience.
• 2. Bachelor's degree plus two years of experience substituted for required experience.
• 3. Master's degree substituted for required experience.
• 4. Military service experience substituted for required experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources.
• Analyze data to identify trends and insights that support division goals.
• Prepare clear analyses and visualizations for varied audiences.
• Design and update dashboards using BI tools to present real-time data.
• Create recurring reports for staff and leadership.
• Document data sources, methodologies, and processes for transparency.
• Assist in data governance, quality assurance, and process improvements.
• Identify opportunities to address gaps in data management.
