Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers to build and productionize data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

This hands-on, customer-facing role requires engineering excellence, curiosity, and strong communication. You will deliver reference architectures, guide deployments, and collaborate with engineers,

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript with modern frameworks.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Able to lead end-to-end technical delivery and customer engagements.
• Willingness to travel 20% and Databricks Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solution delivery by designing reference architectures and data ingestion.
• Guide transformational big data projects from end-to-end design to deployment.
• Bootstrap or implement customer projects to drive adoption and value.
• Own architecture decisions, ensuring secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, PM and customer teams to deliver components.
• Provide product and support feedback for rapid issue resolution.
• Embed with customer teams across stakeholders to deliver impact.
• Create accelerators and best practices to scale across accounts.
