Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers in the Cincinnati area to build and productionize data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

This hands-on, customer-facing role requires engineering depth, curiosity, and the ability to deliver measurable outcomes with customer empathy.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Spark.
• Able to lead architecture decisions and deliver production-grade solutions with security and scalability in mind.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solution delivery including reference architectures, data ingestion, and AI model integration.
• Guide strategic customers through end-to-end design, build, and deployment of big data and AI applications.
• Own architecture decisions, ensuring secure, scalable solutions aligned with customer needs and Databricks best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to ensure delivery meets requirements.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver measurable impact.
