Job summary

Databricks in Seattle is hiring a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to own architecture and deliver end-to-end data, AI, and application solutions on the Databricks platform.

You will work directly with customers to design, implement, and productionize reference architectures and custom integrations. This hands-on, customer-facing role requires strong engineering depth and the ability to translate complex problems into practical solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with at least two cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing via Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• Knowledge of CI/CD for production deployments.
• Familiarity with ML/AI models and ML workflows.

Responsibilities

• Production Solution Delivery: lead production-grade customer projects with reference architectures, data ingestion, and AI model integration.
• Transformational Impact: guide customers through end-to-end big data projects and scope technical delivery with input from customers.
• Empower Customers: advise on architecture/design and drive adoption of Databricks solutions.
• Own the Architecture: lead architecture decisions ensuring secure, scalable solutions aligned with customer needs and Databricks best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and customer teams to deliver engagement components.
• Provide product and implementation feedback to drive rapid issue resolution.
• Customer Immersion: embed with customer teams from ICs to executives to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Contribute accelerators and best practices that scale across accounts and influence the product roadmap.
