Job summary

lululemon Athletica Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Data & AI Platforms to design and build data systems and AI-enabled platform capabilities across enterprise teams.

You will influence architectural patterns, governance, and testing strategies while mentoring engineers and partnering with business stakeholders. The role requires leadership, strong software craftsmanship, and the ability to work across domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree beneficial, or equivalent experience
• 6-10 years of software development experience, building complex systems and driving technical initiatives across teams, or equivalent
• Proven track record of writing exemplary code that serves as a technical reference; experience establishing coding standards and quality practices
• Demonstrated ability to decompose highly complex problems into scalable solutions with system-wide impact
• Experience designing integration solutions for complex domain areas; driven decisions across teams within architectural standards
• Experience building knowledge bases in retail or similar domains
• Familiarity with search, recommender and RAG/GraphRAG hybrid retrieval architectures
• Experience defining enterprise semantic layers used across multiple product teams
• Exposure to AI-Driven systems – optimization, predictions and Agents

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and evolve semantic models for enterprise domains like product, customer, supply chain
• Build and maintain systems providing high-quality context for LLMs (RAG pipelines, embeddings, semantic search)
• Collaborate with AI/ML teams to validate model correctness and reduce hallucination risks
• Address data ambiguity and inconsistencies via data validation and governance
• Lead implementation of complex systems across services within architectural frameworks
• Write exemplary code as technical reference and establish coding standards across teams
• Provide input to architects on system design and integration approaches
• Lead code quality and design reviews across teams for alignment
