Job summary

Databricks is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers to design, build, and productionize data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform.

You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and deliver end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, ML/AI models, and application interfaces. This customer-facing role requires strong coding and cloud experience to translate complex problems into actionable solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data engineering, data platforms or software engineering.
• Strong coding in Python, Scala or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP; at least one cloud is a must.
• Deep experience with Apache Spark and Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps and ML/AI model deployment.
• Ability to design end-to-end data architectures and apps.
• Experience delivering for enterprise clients and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel ~20% to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead production solution delivery on customer projects.
• Design and build reference architectures, data ingestion and AI model integrations.
• Guide transformational big data projects end-to-end.
• Own architecture decisions ensuring security and scalability.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams.
• Provide product and support feedback to drive improvements.
• Immerse with customer teams and stakeholders across levels.
• Create accelerators and reusable assets to scale impact.
