Job summary

Databricks is hiring a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers on data & AI challenges using the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture and lead end-to-end delivery spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

This hands-on, customer-facing role requires strong engineering depth, adaptability, and a passion for delivering measurable business outcomes while ensuring scalable, secure solutions. Travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data engineering, data platforms, analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark.
• Experience with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps and AI models.
• Ability to design end-to-end data architectures.
• Experience delivering technical projects with measurable outcomes.
• Excellent documentation and white-boarding skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade data and AI solution delivery including reference architectures.
• Guide customers through end-to-end design, build, and deployment of big data apps.
• Bootstrap and implement projects to ensure customer understanding and adoption.
• Own architecture to ensure secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, PM, architects, and customer teams to deliver.
• Provide feedback to product teams to guide improvements.
