Job summary

Databricks seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to collaborate with customers, architect solutions on the Databricks platform, and deliver end-to-end data, AI, and application projects. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and work with engineering, product, and customer teams to ensure secure, scalable deployments that meet customer needs and drive measurable outcomes.

Travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of production end-to-end data architectures and apps that combine pipelines and ML/AI models.

Responsibilities

• Lead impactful customer technical projects delivering production‑grade solutions.
• Design and build reference architectures, data ingestion, and model integration.
• Guide strategic customers implementing large data and AI projects end‑to‑end.
• Own architecture decisions ensuring secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams throughout engagements.
• Provide feedback to product and support to enable faster issue resolution.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impact.
