Job summary

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a Senior Dam Safety Engineer – FERC IC to join our team. The role can be fully remote with flexible hours for the right candidate.

Ideal candidate is a licensed PE with 15+ years in civil/structural/geotechnical engineering, FERC dam safety experience, and strong client relationships. Responsibilities include leading PFMA/L2RA workshops, preparing dam safety reports, managing projects and clients, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in good standing is required.
• 15+ years of engineering consulting experience including FERC Part 12D and dam safety.
• Experience on FERC-regulated projects as Independent Consultant or CDSE eligibility.
• Knowledge of federal/state dam safety standards and guidelines.
• Excellent communication and proposal development skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform dam safety work including FERC Part 12D inspections.
• Lead PFMA and L2RA workshops.
• Oversee hydrological, geotechnical, and structural evaluations.
• Prepare and review dam safety reports and manuals.
• Manage clients, projects, and deliverables.
• Provide dam safety training and lead EAP exercises with clients.
• Present findings to clients/regulators/boards.
• Lead remedial designs for earthfill and concrete dams.
• Mentor junior staff on dam safety.
• Marketing, proposals, and project scheduling.
