Job summary

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a Senior Dam Safety Engineer - FERC IC to join our team in multiple locations across the United States.

This role can be fully remote with flexible hours for the right candidate, requiring PE licensure and extensive FERC-related dam safety experience. You will collaborate with clients on federally-regulated hydroelectric projects, lead technical analyses, mentor staff, and contribute to project management and business development.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering (MS preferred).
• Active PE license in good standing required.
• 15+ years of engineering consulting experience including FERC Part 12D and dam safety work.
• Experience as FERC-approved Independent Consultant or CDSE or eligible.
• PMFA/L2RA facilitation on FERC-regulated projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform dam safety work including FERC Part 12D inspections and CDSE-type services.
• Lead PFMA and L2RA workshops; oversee hydrological, geotechnical, and structural evaluations.
• Prepare and review dam safety reports and DSSMRs, PSPs, O&M manuals, EAPs, and related documents.
• Manage clients, projects, and deliverables; mentor junior staff.
• Lead dam safety training and EAP exercises with clients; conduct client meetings.
