Job summary

McMillen, Inc. seeks a Senior Dam Safety Engineer - FERC IC to join our team. This role offers fully remote work with flexible hours for the right candidate, who holds a PE license and extensive dam safety experience.

You will collaborate on federally regulated hydro projects and manage client relationships. You will lead FERC Part 12D evaluations, PFMA/L2RA workshops, and oversee analyses for embankments, concrete dams, and water structures while mentoring staff and coordinating with clients

Qualifications

• Active PE license required.
• 15+ years of engineering consulting including FERC Part 12D.
• Experience as FERC Independent Consultant or CDSE eligibility.
• PMFA/L2RA facilitation experience on FERC projects.
• Strong communication and proposal development skills.
• Knowledge of federal and state dam safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform dam safety work including FERC Part 12D inspections.
• Lead PFMA and L2RA workshops.
• Oversee hydrological, geotechnical, and structural evaluations.
• Prepare and review dam safety reports and manuals.
• Manage clients, projects, and deliverables.
• Provide dam safety training and lead EAP exercises.
• Conduct meetings and present findings to clients/regulators.
• Lead or support remedial designs for various dam types.
• Mentor junior staff.
• Marketing, proposals, cost estimating, scheduling.
• Assist in subcontractor selection.
