With a strong track record of strategic growth and acquisitions, Komline continues to expand its solution portfolio and technical capabilities while maintaining our commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.

This Opportunity

Komline is seeking a Senior D365 Project Accounting and Costing Implementation Lead with deep experience in engineer-to-order or make-to-order manufacturing to lead the design and implementation of project budgeting, forecasting, cost visibility, and percentage-of-completion (POC) processes within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.

This hands‑on functional role will connect project management, manufacturing transactions, and financial reporting so project managers and controllers can understand and reconcile project performance. The role will partner with the ERP Platform Manager, D365 program leadership, solution architect, functional specialists, data engineer, and site subject matter experts as part of an internal implementation team targeting five to six deployments annually, including concurrent projects and acquisition integrations.

The initial focus will be implementations and post‑go‑live stabilization. D365 program leadership will coordinate delivery plans, while the ERP Platform Manager will own platform priorities and governance. An external service provider will manage ongoing production support and selected technical operations, and the data engineer will lead migration execution. Responsibilities may expand to platform improvements and ongoing support as the deployment portfolio evolves.

Responsibilities
  • Lead requirements gathering and process design with controllers, project managers, engineering, and manufacturing teams. Translate Finance-approved accounting policies into solution requirements and controls
  • Configure project structures, categories, budgets, forecasts, billing, and posting rules within the agreed solution. Establish consistent project review and change control processes
  • Define POC and revenue recognition requirements with Finance, documenting eligible costs, calculation bases, budget or forecast versions, adjustments, and reconciliation rules
  • Design estimate-to-complete and estimate-at-completion processes, including approved forecast revisions and visibility into purchasing and production commitments without double counting
  • Trace material, labor, and overhead costs through production orders and nested subassemblies into project financials. Identify gaps in cost detail, timing, and transaction traceability
  • Evaluate standard D365 capabilities, existing independent software vendor (ISV) solutions, and proposed extensions with the solution architect. Document limitations and validate designs using realistic project scenarios
  • Define reporting requirements for budgets, actuals, commitments, forecasts, variances, and POC. Partner with data and business intelligence resources to reconcile reports to source transactions and the general ledger
  • Own functional migration mappings and validation criteria for open projects, budgets, forecasts, work in process (WIP), and related balances. Coordinate migration execution with the data engineer and business owners
  • Lead testing of project and manufacturing cost flows, forecast changes, billing, and period‑end scenarios. Investigate variances and obtain business acceptance
  • Train project managers and controllers, document recurring cost review and close procedures, and support cutover, initial project reporting, and handoff to ongoing support
  • Establish repeatable POC and project‑close processes that help users explain cost variances, reconcile detailed costs to financial totals, maintain approved forecasts, and reduce manual workarounds
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, manufacturing, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365 Finance and Operations functional experience, with substantial hands‑on responsibility for project accounting and manufacturing costing
  • Participation in at least two full ERP implementation lifecycles, including D365 delivery in an engineer‑to‑order or make‑to‑order manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to trace and reconcile material, labor, overhead, WIP, and project costs across production orders and multilevel assemblies
  • Experience translating approved POC and revenue recognition policies into system processes, testing, controls, and reporting
  • Strong understanding of project budgets, actuals, commitments, forecasts, estimate to complete, and estimate at completion, including their distinct purposes
  • Ability to work directly with controllers and project managers and clearly document where standard functionality, an ISV solution, or custom development is required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Signup Software Axtension or comparable project control solutions for D365 Finance and Operations
  • Manufacturing cost accounting or controllership experience
  • Familiarity with Power BI and data models used for project reporting
  • Relevant Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications or an accounting qualification
