Zusammenfassung

Berkley Program Specialists seeks an experienced claims professional to manage complex nonprofit D&O and EPLI claims from notice to resolution. You will evaluate liability, coverage, and litigation exposure, reserve appropriately, and lead settlement discussions.

You will direct defense strategy, monitor budgets, and collaborate with attorneys to achieve efficient outcomes while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifikationen

• 7+ years of experience handling D&O, EPLI, management liability, professional liability or related complex casualty claims.
• Experience managing litigated claims and working directly with defense counsel.
• Nonprofit management liability experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of claims-made insurance policies and coverage analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Independently manage a diverse portfolio of complex nonprofit D&O and EPLI claims from first notice through resolution.
• Evaluate liability, damages, coverage, and litigation exposure to develop effective resolution strategies.
• Establish and maintain appropriate claim reserves.
• Lead settlement negotiations and drive favorable claim outcomes.
• Analyze claims-made policy coverage, including terms, exclusions, endorsements, reporting requirements, and prior acts provisions.
• Draft coverage position letters, reservation of rights letters, and coverage determinations.
• Provide analysis of emerging legal and claim trends impacting nonprofit organizations.
• Direct defense counsel on litigation and settlement strategy.
• Monitor legal spend and case budgets.
• Partner with attorneys and experts to achieve efficient claim resolutions.
• Build strong relationships with insureds, brokers, underwriters, and business partners.
• Serve as a trusted technical resource within the claims organization.
• Mentor and support less experienced claim professionals.
• Communicate complex claim and coverage issues clearly and confidently.
• Provide responsive and professional service during challenging claim situations.
• Help strengthen long-term relationships with insureds and distribution partners.
• Ensure all claims activities comply with internal guidelines, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
• Maintain accurate and timely claim file documentation and reporting.
• Participate in audits, peer reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
