Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks a security-focused professional to support RMF/ATO validation and implement cybersecurity controls for DoD/DoC environments. You will review system changes, develop security designs, and analyze data to uphold security postures across Linux-based systems.

The role requires active TS/SCI clearance, DoD 8140.03 certifications, and hands-on experience with STIG/RMF, vulnerability scanning, and security engineering tasks in a government contracting context.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
• Active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
• DoD 8140.03 compliant certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent)
• Experience in Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) as described in NIST SP 800-37 and DoD Instruction 8510.01
• Experience with Linux Commands and vulnerability scanning tools (Tenable, STIG Viewer, SCAP)

Responsibilities

• Support the development of RMF documents and controls validation testing for Authorizations to Operate (ATOs)
• Ensure proposed system changes are reviewed and implemented to protect system security
• Implement security improvements by assessing current situation and trends
• Support cybersecurity requirements, design artifacts, plans and policies
• Analyze collected cybersecurity data and test results
• On-site security engineering, systems administration, and cybersecurity support
• Collaborate with Software/Systems Engineering to harden the system
