Job summary

Avantus in San Diego, CA, USA, is seeking a Sr. Manager, Cybersecurity to lead the IT Cybersecurity function, shaping controls, incident response, and risk mitigation across the enterprise and its energy facilities.

You will partner with IT leadership and external resources to mature security programs, drive project implementations, and ensure alignment with NERC CIP and other frameworks while mentoring the IT team and communicating with executives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in IT security roles, including leadership positions with enterprise scope.
• Direct experience with NERC CIP compliance and controls is a strong plus.
• Experience with frameworks such as CIS, NIST, ISO or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve IT cybersecurity solutions, controls, procedures, and policies.
• Respond to cybersecurity incidents and escalate according to incident response plans.
• Drive solution implementations and manage projects from start to finish.
• Develop and execute cybersecurity strategy in collaboration with IT leadership.
• Mentor IT team members and business stakeholders.
• Oversee SIEM, vulnerability management, security analytics, and incident response operations.
