Job summary

Alabama Power EnergyPlus in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Cyber Security Manager for Generation/Gas/Transmission/PowerSecure to oversee the architecture, implementation, and operation of security systems across multiple energy sectors. You will lead a team, manage budgets, and coordinate with executives and IT to align security with business objectives; deep knowledge of NERC CIP and ICS is essential.

This role reports to the Director, Cybersecurity and requires extensive leadership in a regulated

Qualifications

• 8+ years in information security leadership.
• Experience leading senior technical talent and managing multi-million-dollar budgets.
• Knowledge of ICS security for generation, substations and renewables.
• Understanding of NERC CIP regulatory requirements.
• Ability to present recommendations to executives and secure buy-in.
• Experience in energy sector security technologies and trends.

Responsibilities

• Lead organization to achieve its mission through talent development and team building.
• Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with management across Generation, Gas, Transmission, PowerSecure and Southern Power.
• Communicate and brief executive management regarding security posture, threats, remediation, implementations and incidents.
• Work with IT and business units across Southern Company to deliver on cyber security requirements and risk mitigation.
• Lead IT cyber security engineering, implementation, and support for multiple units.
• Perform capital and operating expense budgeting for the organization and projects.
