Job summary

Southern Company is seeking a Cyber Security Manager for Generation, Gas, Transmission, PowerSecure to oversee the architecture, implementation, and operations of security systems across energy operations. You will lead a team to design and deliver security strategies that protect critical control assets.

The role requires executive communication, strong leadership of multi-million dollar programs, and deep knowledge of NERC CIP compliance.

Qualifications

• Extensive breadth and depth of knowledge in cybersecurity concepts and best practices.
• Senior leadership experience in a large, regulated organization.
• Knowledge of energy sector ICS security technologies, trends and challenges.
• Experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets and leading senior technical/management talent.
• Understanding of generation operations and associated ICS environments (big iron, renewables, distributed generation).

Responsibilities

• Lead and enhance an organization capable of achieving its mission, including talent development and team building.
• Foster collaboration with Generation, Gas, Transmission, PowerSecure, Southern Power and Technology Organization leadership.
• Brief executive management on security posture, threats, and incidents.
• Collaborate with IT and business units to meet cybersecurity requirements and risk mitigation.
• Lead cybersecurity engineering, implementation, and support for generation and transmission assets.
• Oversee financial management for projects and programs.
• Guide selection and support of security technologies used by the organization.
• Ensure compliance with NERC CIP and related standards for Southern Company operations.
• Direct design and implementation of cybersecurity projects to protect control systems.
