Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to contribute to a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team focused on IA and cybersecurity across global government projects. You will help secure products and systems through secure architectures, testing, and accreditation.

The role covers Windows/Linux admin, network security, and system integration testing, with opportunities to lead security efforts and drive compliance with RMF and DoD frameworks. Domestic travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Cybersecurity Engineering or IA
• RMF packages design, documentation, and eMASS maintenance
• Deep understanding of NIST 800-53, RMF, CIS/CMMC frameworks
• Experience with defense in depth and threat detection
• Knowledge of DoD Zero Trust Framework
• Strong IT/networking fundamentals and centralized directory services
• US citizenship with TS/SCI eligibility; travel up to 20%

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to design and implement secure architectures across programs
• Serve as central cybersecurity resource and lead for major efforts
• Create and maintain vulnerability tracking and security packages
• Provide technical and policy guidance for security accreditation
• Manage system security requirements and configurations (firewalls, routers, switches)
• Validate security functionality across Windows and Linux environments
