Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join a small, fast-paced team responsible for continuous security assessment of ground networks supporting global satellite communications. You’ll administer vulnerability scanning, perform RMF-aligned monitoring, and collaborate with IA, network engineering, and SOC teams to maintain a strong security posture.

The role requires 3+ years in cybersecurity, a relevant degree, and hands-on experience with Nessus, networking and firewall basics.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in Cybersecurity Engineering or related field.
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or related engineering field.
Familiarity with RMF continuous monitoring activities.
Knowledge of vulnerability scanning applications (Tenable Nessus preferred).
Understanding of IP networking and secure protocols.
Understanding of router, switch, and firewall configuration basics.
Ability to travel up to 10%.
US Citizenship required.
Active United States Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

Perform continuous security assessment of network systems per RMF.
Administer vulnerability scanning, policy configuration, and reporting.
Analyze results and report findings to owners and stakeholders.
Maintain asset inventory, hardware/software lists, and ports/services docs.
Collaborate with IA, network engineering, and SOC teams to maintain security posture.
