Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join a fast-paced team focused on securing ground networks for global satellite communications. You will lead continuous security assessment, perform vulnerability scanning, and collaborate with IA, network engineering, and SOC teams to maintain visibility into the network's security posture.

The role requires 3+ years of cybersecurity experience, familiarity with RMF, Nessus, and network device basics, and willingness to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Cybersecurity Engineering, Information Assurance, secure systems/network administration, or similar discipline.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or related engineering field or equivalent years of experience.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning applications (Nessus preferred).
• Knowledge of IP networking and secure communication protocols.
• Understanding of router, switch, and firewall configuration basics.
• Familiarity with RMF continuous monitoring activities.
• Familiarity with endpoint detection and response technologies.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• US Citizenship Required
• Active United States Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

• Administer the vulnerability scanning application, configure policies for a variety of systems, and develop automation for scanning and reporting.
• Implement vulnerability scans, analyze results, and report findings to system owners and stakeholders.
• Maintain documentation to track vulnerabilities and remediations, populate security packages, and present program security status.
• Maintain system asset inventory, hardware and software lists, and ports, protocols, and services documentation
