Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer III to join the In‑Space Systems security team. You will engineer and harden systems across classified enclaves, drive RMF accreditation, and maintain ongoing compliance.

The role involves vulnerability management, incident response, and building automation to reduce manual toil while collaborating closely with program engineers to deliver secure systems on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on cybersecurity engineering experience.
• Experience implementing security controls on classified DoD/IC systems.
• RMF control implementation, SSP/artifact development, POA&M remediation, and continuous monitoring.
• Hands-on depth in Linux/Windows hardening and related security work.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and harden security architecture across classified enclaves and lab environments.
• Drive RMF accreditation from SSPs to ATO/ATC and ongoing compliance.
• Defend the environment through vulnerability management and log/audit monitoring.
• Respond to incidents, participate in on-call rotation, and drive corrective actions.
• Automate compliance tasks and tooling to reduce manual toil.
• Collaborate with program engineers to deliver secure, mission-focused systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team security playbooks.
