Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of a robust cybersecurity architecture across the enterprise.

You will drive security strategy, governance, and risk management, collaborating with senior leadership to align security with business goals and regulatory requirements. The role emphasizes threat prevention, incident response, and secure cloud adoption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or a related field.
• Minimum 10+ years in cybersecurity with leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS frameworks.
• Experience in cloud security and secure SDLC practices.
• Professional certifications (CISSP/CISM/CISA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture strategy.
• Design secure IT environments including network, cloud, and data security.
• Implement and maintain security controls for on-premises and cloud.
• Perform risk assessments for new technologies and apps.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity governance, policies and standards.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to define risk appetite and incident response.
• Oversee integration of security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management).
• Ensure compliance with NIST CSF, CCPA, PCI-DSS, HIPAA for logistics.
• Monitor threats and coordinate proactive risk mitigation.
• Lead vulnerability assessments and pen tests with internal/third-party teams.
• Establish and run incident response plans and post-incident reviews.
