Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to support the SEIT department within the CNS BU in San Diego. You will work with engineers to implement security controls, perform assessments, and prepare Security Plans for NSA and DoD programs.

The role requires DoD Secret clearance, 5 years of technical experience (or 3 with a Masters, 1 with a PhD), and strong communication skills to coordinate with stakeholders across government and industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or engineering required or equivalent experience.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+) or higher required.
• U.S. citizenship required and active DoD Secret clearance preferred.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and assess security controls and RMF/CMMC aligned with NSA and DoD frameworks.
• Assess system security controls and identify weaknesses.
• Document Certification and Accreditation artifacts and update POA&M.
• Maintain security tooling, centralized authentication, IDS/IPS, and compliance baselines.
• Provide advanced cyber infrastructure analyses and practical solutions.
