About the Role :

We are seeking a Customer Success Technical Architect (CSTA) to serve as a trusted technical advisor for our customers. The main goal is to ensure customer success, retention, and expansion by providing technical guidance on the Confluent product suite. You will collaborate with Customer Solutions, Sales, Product Management, and Engineering teams to help customers realize value, increase product adoption, and meet their business goals.

The CSTA role combines technical expertise and commercial acumen. You will leverage your background in AppDev, SysAdmin, or Distributed Computing to advise customers on architecture, strategies, and best practices for operating and maturing their Confluent subscriptions. Additionally, you will use relationship management skills and industry experience to guide customers towards achieving their goals through their Confluent investment.

This role offers the opportunity to gain broad experience with Kafka, Flink, and Confluent IP, as well as understanding of related technologies. You will work with a diverse range of organizations, from startups to large enterprises, building strong relationships and ensuring high standards of service while helping customers develop advanced data streaming platforms.

What You Will Do :
  1. Advocate for the customer within Confluent, representing their technical needs and insights across teams to drive success.
  2. Address customer technical objections and develop strategies to overcome adoption blockers.
  3. Support customers through architecture planning, security design, monitoring, automation, upgrades, migrations, and high availability strategies.
  4. Guide customers on advancing their data streaming maturity, including topics like data mesh, stream processing, and performance tuning.
  5. Conduct and present customer reviews analyzing technical health and operational performance.
  6. Document knowledge and transfer skills to customers and internal teams to foster self-sufficiency and improve service quality.
  7. Influence Confluent product roadmaps based on customer environments and use cases.
  8. Assist with resolving complex customer issues alongside Support Engineers and Engineering teams.
What You Will Bring :
  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
  2. Proven success in a technical role with enterprise SaaS or product companies.
  3. Passion for solving complex technical problems and understanding modern infrastructure and streaming tech.
  4. Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex issues clearly to diverse audiences.
  5. Ability to manage multiple customers and initiatives with attention to detail.
  6. Strong consulting and relationship management skills, with flexibility to adapt to different contexts.
  7. Hands-on experience with cloud vendors (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  8. Knowledge of cloud networking and security technologies (. VPC, TLS/SSL, SASL, Kerberos).
  9. Experience coding in multiple languages (. Java, Python, Go).
  10. Familiarity with JVM tuning, Linux configuration, and troubleshooting.
  11. Quick learner with a strong interest in new technologies.
  12. Willingness to travel up to 20%.
What Gives You an Edge :
  1. Confluent Developer or Administrator certifications.
  2. Experience with Apache Flink and building distributed streaming solutions with Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Cassandra, etc.
