About the Role :

We are seeking a Customer Success Technical Architect (CSTA) to serve as a trusted technical advisor for our customers. The role focuses on ensuring customer success, retention, and expansion by providing technical guidance on best practices for the Confluent product suite. You will collaborate with Customer Solutions, Sales, Product Management, and Engineering teams to help customers maximize value and achieve their business objectives.

The CSTA role combines technical expertise with commercial acumen. You will leverage your background in AppDev, SysAdmin, or Distributed Computing to advise on architectures and strategies for operating and maturing Confluent subscriptions. Your relationship management skills and industry experience will guide customers toward their business goals via their Confluent investment.

This role offers the opportunity to gain broad experience with Kafka, Flink, and Confluent IP, as well as understanding of complementary and competitive technologies. You will work with diverse organizations, from startups to large enterprises, building strong relationships and ensuring excellent service delivery while helping customers develop advanced data streaming platforms.

Locations : US Remote

Language Requirement : Spanish and/or Portuguese

What You Will Do :
  • Advocate for the customer within Confluent, representing their technical needs and insights to internal teams to drive success.
  • Address customer technical objections and develop strategies to overcome adoption blockers.
  • Support customers through architecture planning, security design, monitoring, automation, upgrades, migrations, and high availability strategies.
  • Guide customers on advancing their data streaming maturity, including topics like data mesh, stream processing, and performance tuning.
  • Conduct and present periodic customer reviews analyzing technical health and operational performance.
  • Document knowledge transfer to customers and internal teams to foster independent customer capabilities and improve support.
  • Use customer environment knowledge to influence Confluent product roadmaps.
  • Assist in resolving customer issues alongside Support Engineers and Engineering teams when needed.
What You Will Bring :
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Proven success in a technical role with enterprise SaaS or product companies.
  • Passion for solving complex technical problems with a strong understanding of infrastructure and streaming tech.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex issues clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple customers simultaneously, focusing on expansion, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong consulting and relationship management skills.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud vendors (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking and security technologies (VPC, TLS/SSL, SASL, Kerberos).
  • Experience coding in multiple languages (Java, Python, Go).
  • Knowledge of JVM tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Experience operating Linux systems (RedHat, Debian).
  • Quick learner with a strong interest in new technologies.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
What Gives You an Edge :
  • Confluent Developer or Administrator certifications.
  • Experience with Apache Flink.
  • Experience building distributed systems or streaming solutions with Kafka, Spark, Flink, Hadoop, Cassandra, etc.
