Job summary

Eaton Fayetteville, NC is seeking a Senior Custom Order Engineer onsite to design and document power distribution equipment and guide engineers and designers. You will manage on-site supplier visits and use AutoCAD, Design Automation, and MAPICS to meet purchaser requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Two (2) years of engineering experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Two (2) years of experience with AutoCAD and/or other engineering/design software programs.

Responsibilities

• Consult with plant and field sales engineers in interpreting and defining new equipment applications.
• Develop complex drawings and bills-of-material based on product designs with detail for purchaser’s equipment application.
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products.
• Advise Drafting/Design, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to ensure accurate production of equipment.
• Manage purchaser onsite visits to approve and/or release equipment for shipping.
• Manage Manufacturing and Engineering Change Notices.
• Demonstrate advanced computer skills with Bid Manager, AutoCAD, Design Automation, MAPICS.
• Consult with Quality in resolving issues after shipment when required.
• Conduct special development/application projects of a complex nature.
• Inform cost and cycle time improvement activities.
• Conduct technical training guidance and seminars as required.
• Analyze needs and revise Department Policies and Procedures.
