In this onsite role, you will collaborate with application engineers and manufacturing teams, use design automation tools, and produce manufacturing documentation while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED with 5+ years experience or AS/BS in related engineering.
• Experience using CAD software to create engineered drawings for MCCs.
• US work authorization; no immigration sponsorship; within 75 miles of Fayetteville, NC.

Responsibilities

• Analyze schematics to determine mechanical design requirements and layouts.

• Learn and apply software such as Bid Manager, AutoCAD, Design Automation, MAPICS.
• Interpret work packages to develop mechanical design and manufacturing info.

• Handle multiple projects and duties simultaneously.

Job description

Eaton’s Electrical Sector – ARS PDCA division is currently seeking a Custom Order Designer onsite at our Eaton Fayetteville facility. The primary function of the role is to provide mechanical design and documentation support for the Low Voltage Motor Control Center product line, including engineering designs, collaborating with application engineers and manufacturing associates, utilizing design automation software, and producing or maintaining manufacturing documentation.

Annual salary range: $69,000 – $101,000 a year. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, and market considerations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze schematic diagrams to determine mechanical design requirements and associated layouts.
• Manage Manufacturing and Engineering Change Notices.
• Demonstrate advanced computer skills and learn required software (Bid Manager, AutoCAD, Design Automation, MAPICS).
• Interpret engineering work packages to develop mechanical design and manufacturing information packages.
• Coordinate across organization levels to ensure schedules are met.
• Conduct detailed Bill of Material reviews for editing and accuracy.
• Handle multiple projects, assignments, and duties simultaneously.
• Maintain compliance with quality systems and corporate programs such as ISO 9000-2000, ISO 14001, Underwriters Laboratory, NEMA, and other applicable programs.
• Participate in and demonstrate understanding of programs such as Eaton Business System (EBS), Management of Environmental Safety and Health (MESH),.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Basic (required) Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or associate’s degree or higher in a related engineering/technology major with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline.
• Experience with computer-aided design software to create engineered drawings and/or knowledge of the design and manufacturing of motor control centers and package control assemblies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient in AutoCAD and other engineering and design software programs.
• Understanding and application of drafting standards and techniques using computer-aided engineering software.
• Capability to visualize components, features, and assemblies in three‑dimensional space.
