Job summary

Housing Works is seeking a Senior Custodian to clean and maintain the Pitkin Avenue Residence and grounds, perform minor carpentry, plumbing, and mechanical repairs, and support turnover of apartments. The role emphasizes adherence to cleaning plans and safety standards in a fast-paced setting.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and a demonstrated commitment to serving low-income and marginalized communities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with and proven commitment to working with low-income and marginalized communities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the custodial and maintenance plan to keep common spaces, bathrooms, offices, residential spaces, laundry rooms, and grounds clean and stocked.
• Remove trash according to NYC guidelines.
• Assist in apartment turnover by cleaning and performing minor repairs (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating/cooling).
