Job summary

Housing Works Inc. is seeking a Senior Custodian to maintain and clean Housing Works’ East New York Residence (ENY) and its grounds.

The role includes painting, plastering, and performing minor carpentry, plumbing, and mechanical repairs on building fixtures and equipment. The position emphasizes adherence to a custodial maintenance plan and the ability to support apartment turnover with basic repair tasks, while contributing to a safe, sanitary, and well-supplied living environment for

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with and commitment to working with low-income and marginalized communities.
• Ability to think critically and exercise good judgment, and to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with Salesforce or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the custodial and preventative maintenance plan to keep common spaces, bathrooms, offices, residential spaces, Laundry Rooms and grounds clean and stocked.
• Dispose of trash in accordance with NYC guidelines.
• Assist in apartment turnover by cleaning and performing minor repairs (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, HVAC).
