Job summary

Catalyst Environmental Solutions Corporation seeks a Cultural Resources Practice Leader based in California or Oregon with in-office or remote options. Lead complex cultural resource projects, mentor staff, and expand geographic reach across environmental and land development projects.

You will work with senior leadership to guide regulatory strategy, build client relationships, and deliver technically rigorous cultural resources studies on multidisciplinary projects.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field is required.
• 10-15 years of professional Cultural Resources experience with increased leadership responsibility.
• Demonstrated technical expertise and experience leading fieldwork and reports.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local cultural resource regulations, including Section 106.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clients and audiences.
• Experience in business development and client management.
• Experience building or expanding a cultural resources team.
• Proven ability to lead teams and supervise staff.
• Attention to detail, organization, and judgment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects; valid driver’s license; RPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and expand Catalyst’s Cultural Resources practice including strategic planning and client development.
• Serve as Principal Investigator, Project Manager, and Technical Lead on complex cultural resource projects.
• Manage tasks: research designs, work plans, survey strategies, reporting, data recovery, and mitigation.
• Prepare and review technical documents for archaeological and architectural history studies.
• Oversee field operations: surveys, excavations, monitoring, and documentation.
• Interface with clients, agencies, Tribal representatives, and internal teams; communicate regulatory requirements clearly.
• Ensure compliance with Section 106, NEPA, and state/local regulations.
• Support proposal development, scope/fee prep, and business development.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and client expectations; oversee invoicing and financials.
• Recruit, supervise, mentor staff archaeologists and field crews; collaborate across offices.
• Maintain knowledge of regional standards and regulatory trends; participate in trainings.
