HELIX Environmental Planning, Inc. in Northern California seeks an experienced Cultural Resources Group Manager to lead and grow our cultural resources practice, shaping strategy, managing key client relationships, and ensuring technical excellence across projects.

You will mentor staff, drive proposals and business development, oversee large studies, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, with a flexible hybrid schedule and potential remote arrangement for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, History, or related field with Archaeology concentration.
• Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA).
• 15+ years of archaeological experience, including managing cultural resources teams.
• Experience preparing proposals, archaeological studies, and technical reports.
• Strong knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, NHPA Section 106 and cultural resource regs.
• Experience with Northern California prehistoric and historic archaeology.
• Experience coordinating with Tribal representatives and building Tribal relationships.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Lead and grow HELIX's Northern California Cultural Resources Group.
• Develop and implement business plans with regional leadership.
• Drive business development and marketing efforts throughout Sacramento and Northern California.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and generate new opportunities.
• Manage large projects and on-call contracts.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead cultural resources staff.
• Oversee group financial performance and operational success.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across the company.
• Provide quality assurance and technical review of cultural resources work products.
• Foster a collaborative, professional, and positive team environment.
