Job summary

MGAC is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager for a prestigious cultural and museum capital improvement project in New York City. You will manage planning, deinstallation, and reinstallation of a new permanent exhibit as part of a collaborative project team.

The role focuses on one client over several years, offering exposure to high-profile museum work and close collaboration with MGAC’s NYC office. Strong PM, coordination, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction project management within the cultural/museum sector.
• Experience with artifact deinstallation, planning, and exhibit reinstallation is desirable.
• Proficiency in MS Office and PDF tooling required.
• Strong communication and coordination across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Participate as an active member of a project management team to execute a multi-phased program.
• Oversee artifact deinstallation, planning, and reinstallation of a permanent exhibit.
• Support procurement, contracting, and contract amendments for third-party contractors.
• Monitor field progress, schedule analysis, and quality control.
• Interface with museum collections teams, curators, and client decision-makers.
• Prepare project documentation for all phases and manage communications.
• Assist in budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and closeout activities.
