This role supports a multi-year capital improvement project in Washington, DC, overseeing the planning, deinstallation, and reinstallation of a new permanent exhibit as part of a collaborative project team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction project management
• Significant experience in the Cultural/Museum Sector
• Construction management related to collection logistics, museum capital projects, exhibits management or facility operations
• Excellent analytical, organizational, problem solving, presentation, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office, MS Project/Primavera P6, and PDF tools like Acrobat/Bluebeam/Nitro

Responsibilities

• Participate as an active member of a team delivering complex, multi-phased programs
• Responsible for project implementation of artifact deinstallation, planning, coordination, and reinstallation of permanent exhibits
• Support procurement, contracting, and contract amendment processes for third-party contractors
• Experience with project management oversight, schedule management, logistics, contract management, and project communications
• Monitor progress in the field, perform schedule analysis, and ensure quality control
• Interface with museum collections team, curators, exhibit designers, architects, construction teams, and client decision-makers
• Participate in high-level meetings including strategic planning, budgeting, scheduling, initiation, procurement, execution, monitoring, and closeout phases
• Oversee and prepare accurate project documentation for all phases
• Advocate for the client during disputes, modifications, or change orders
• Track and process invoices, purchase orders, and other financial commitments
• Maintain relationships with the wider construction industry and trade partners
